As many of you already know, I am a born and bred New Yorker who made the exodus to the West Coast with three young children exactly 16 years ago this summer. My East Coast family and friends were in disbelief and thought I was a bit crazy to be “giving up” my three kids’ spots in one of the most sought-out private schools in Manhattan and a great apartment as well. I actually didn’t give up anything but gained a fulfilling lifestyle in Los Angeles that is hard to appreciate until you live it.
First and foremost, there is nothing better than LA weather! There are so many areas to live in, offering a variety of different terrain, views, and vistas for any taste. Some could argue that Los Angeles is too spread out; but nowadays, that extra space is clearly desirable. Luckily, I’ve never lost my New York identity; this helps make living in Los Angeles so unparallel.
That being said, my niche in real estate has always been re-locaters, especially ones coming from the East Coast or abroad. Not only can I relate to relocating, but I know what sophisticated clients want and need in LA. I love to help guide my clients as they navigate the options of real estate, children's schools, contractors, designers, and even their medical and beauty specialists.
"I believe we’ll see more transaction volume over the next 18 months than we did over the last 18 months."
- Robert Reffkin, CEO of Compass
These days I‘ve been spending more time cooking up real estate deals for my out-of-town clients than cooking in my kitchen during quarantine. Many out-of-towners are looking for a place here, be it to relocate or have a second or third home. Living in Los Angeles is a perfect lifestyle recipe. Some clients feel more comfortable leasing at first and others are ready to make a purchase from the start; in either case, there are lots of options to choose from. There is no doubt that we are currently in a buyer’s market; and with interest rates so low, there are many people re-evaluating their living situations.
I believe the ingredients for living in Los Angeles make a perfect recipe for the best quality of life one can have. I look forward to being your “LA real estate chef”!
